Protagonist

Amina.

30-year-old photojournalist · Arabian Peninsula

Amina was working a cold murder case when the crash happened. The head injury didn't kill her — but it opened something. Now she walks two worlds at once and has to learn to live in both.

Her tools are stubbornness, attention, and a camera. She is not chosen. She is just the one who is left.

Lumen — flying manta ray of light and stars
Otherworld Companion

Lumen.

A flying manta ray of light and stars · Manifestation of Amina's psyche

Lumen exists only in the Otherworld. She is the player's primary tool for solving it: send her to a position to interact remotely; recall her instantly to come back, or to parry a hit. Her Light reveals hidden glyphs, her Flash locks the Shades that wander each zone, her Ranged Projectile breaks what needs breaking.

Near Amina she is safe. Sent away she is vulnerable. Every puzzle becomes a question of where to put her.
